A visit in October, 1998 to the "Nicholas & Alexandra" exhibit in Wilmington, Delaware reminded us of the sheer luxuriance of Catherine's Palace and the Hermitage. What a shock that instead of seeming pretentious, it all seemed appropriate. One brooch in that exhibit inspired this reminder of an era long gone. On a 3" PURPLE ball.
